The new homes will be delivered as supported housing in response to Recommendation 25 of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. Supported housing combines multidisciplinary, highly-tailored wellbeing treatment, care and support for residents.

The housing will feature:

  • natural light,
  • flexible living spaces,
  • safety and security,
  • private entrances,
  • green landscaping,
  • and holistic support models.

In 2023, the first announcement of the Mental Health Supported Housing Round included more than 30 projects that will deliver more than 200 homes and create around 880 jobs across Victoria.
