The Mental Health Supported Housing Round provides funding for the delivery of new social housing managed by community housing organisations for Victorians living with mental illness who require ongoing support.
The new homes will be delivered as supported housing in response to Recommendation 25 of the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. Supported housing combines multidisciplinary, highly-tailored wellbeing treatment, care and support for residents.
The housing will feature:
- natural light,
- flexible living spaces,
- safety and security,
- private entrances,
- green landscaping,
- and holistic support models.
In 2023, the first announcement of the Mental Health Supported Housing Round included more than 30 projects that will deliver more than 200 homes and create around 880 jobs across Victoria.

Homes Victoria is partnering with The Haven Foundation to deliver 12 new safe and secure one-bedroom homes in Wonthaggi for Victorians living with mental illness.
Located southeast of Melbourne, the homes are set in beautifully landscaped grounds, providing a relaxing environment to focus on recovery while feeling at home.
The residence also features communal recreational and lounge areas, kitchen, meeting spaces and on-site overnight facilities for Mind’s mental health staff.
The site is close to public transport, local shops, and other amenities. Tenancy will be managed by The Haven Foundation.
