About the project
The Harvest Square redevelopment project in Brunswick West is now complete, providing 198 modern, high-quality and energy-efficient homes to the local community.
Located just 6 km north of Melbourne’s city centre, the new housing at the Harvest Square site is conveniently positioned close to public transport, community services, jobs and parks.
Homes Victoria, in partnership with AVJennings and Women’s Housing Limited, has successfully replaced 82 outdated homes with 119 social homes and 50 market apartment homes, delivering a 45% increase in social housing at the site.
Of the 119 social homes, 8 of these will be managed and owned by Women’s Housing Limited. Women’s Housing Limited is a not-for-profit, community housing organisation responsible for managing and maintaining the social housing, including their own dwellings, at the Harvest Square site.
They will provide supportive tenancy management, asset management and maintenance services, as well as deliver community engagement programs for a period of 10 years.
The supply of new housing at the Harvest Square site is a key part of the Victorian Government’s strategy to provide more and better homes for Victorians.
Project update
Construction of the final market housing stage, which includes 29 townhouses, is set to begin in late 2024 and is expected to be completed by late 2026.

Community Engagement
Community engagement is an important element of all Homes Victoria projects, and it was key to the success of the Harvest Square, Brunswick West project.
Homes Victoria previously established a Community Consultative Committee that brought together members of the community to help plan the future of the project. The Committee closed at the end of 2023.
We would like to thank Committee members, as well as other stakeholders that were involved in the Harvest Square, Brunswick West project, who contributed knowledge and feedback over a number of years.
