About the project
The Harvest Square redevelopment project in Brunswick West is now complete, providing modern, high-quality and energy-efficient homes to the local community.
Located just 6 km north of Melbourne’s city centre, the new housing at the Harvest Square site is conveniently positioned close to public transport, community services, jobs and parks.
The project has successfully delivered 119 social homes and 50 market apartment homes, with a further 29 market townhouses planned for completion in the future.
The redevelopment includes community gardens along with generous public open space and play equipment for kids to enjoy. The public open space provides a direct link from the north to the south of the site, connecting Albion Street to Dustan Reserve.
Homes Victoria has partnered with AVJennings, and community housing organisation, Women’s Housing Limited to deliver this important housing project. Women’s Housing Limited is a not-for-profit, community housing organisation that will manage the social housing homes and their own dwellings at the Harvest Square site.
Women’s Housing Limited will provide supportive tenancy management, asset management and maintenance services, as well as deliver community engagement programs over a 10-year period.
The supply of new housing at the Harvest Square site is a key part of the Victorian Government’s strategy to provide more and better homes for Victorians.

Community Engagement
Community engagement has been an important element of this housing project. We would like to take the opportunity to thank our dedicated committee members who have been involved in the Brunswick West Community Consultative Committee for a number of years.
Homes Victoria previously established a Community Consultative Committee that brought together key stakeholders and members of the Brunswick West community to provide advice on the plans to redevelop the Harvest Square site. As the first stages of this housing project have been completed, the Community Consultative Committee has closed.
