The Big Housing build will create thousands of new jobs over the next 4 years.
Around 600 additional new jobs will be created by the $498 million worth of new maintenance and refurbishment work already underway.
Homes Victoria is partnering with a number of builders and developers on major projects across Victoria.

Jobs Victoria supports people looking for work and connects employers with the staff they need. They provide information and advice in person, online and on the phone. The Jobs Victoria online hub is a free service that matches employers with people looking for work, including jobs in construction, trades and other services.
- People looking for work can search for available jobs and register with the online hub to apply for jobs.
- Businesses can register with the online hub to post job vacancies and find staff.
The Jobs Victoria hotline is a free service available 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday. People looking for work and businesses looking for staff can call the hotline on 1300 208 575 for job and recruitment support.
Apprenticeships
Across the duration of the Big Housing Build’s construction program, apprentices, trainees and cadets will comprise up to 10 per cent of all the hours worked on large projects.
As an apprentice, you’ll learn new skills that will set you up for a career in the construction industry.
